1.
The
power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or
restraint.
2.
Absence
of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government.
In
America I was not free. In America there is nothing you can do that the
government does not have laws about. Sleep in Cambodia on anything you
want. By law in America you can not sleep on any matress that does not meet
the standards of the US government.

If
you want to go for a walk in Cambodia. you can. I mean if you want to walk
down the middle of the street, no one gives a damn. In the U.S. no, you can
only cross the road when the government tells you. If you do cross when you
want you can get an expensive ticket for jay walking.
Sex
is very well regulated in the U.S. Here you can have sex with whoever who
is willing to have sex with you. Granted this freedom goes a bit far here
but never the less. In America you can only have sex with who the
government says it is OK.
Drugs
and food. Here unless you are trying to sell no one cares what drugs or food
you take or eat. But in the US everything is decided for you.
I
cannot think of one thing that is not regulated in the US. Some people cannot
even change jobs without the permission of the government.
I
am not saying that Cambodia does not have problems and
some freedom is restricted but day to day the government leaves
you alone. Not so true in the US.
